Opening Mass

Main Chapel

The theme of the seminar “Choose Life” was also the theme of the opening mass. All participants gathered in the side chapel, where the sarcophagus of Mother Maria and Mother Josefa is located.  Then the procession to the main chapel followed. The Mass was presided by Fr. Bert Wooning, Provincial of the Society of the Divine Word, Holland, who spent 40 years as a missionary in Paraguay.

Opening of the Seminar

The facilitators – Sr. Mary John Kudiyiruppil, SSpS and Fr. Francisco O’Conaire, OFM – together with the seminar coordinators – Srs. Estela Parmisano and Carmen Elisa Bandeo, SSpS – reviewed the program and objectives.

Sister Maria Theresia Hörnemann welcomed the participants and expressed her joy at the presence of repesentantes from all SSpS provinces and regions. She emphasized the importance and necessity of this seminar to deepen the thematic perspective of JPIC in the 13th General Chapter.

Dynamic Integration

To help the participants better integrate themselves into the group, a dynamic integration activity was done. You can see from the photos the participants from around the world and speaking different languages ​​are meeting and trying to know one another better..

JPIC Questionnaire

In preparation for the seminar all provinces received a questionnaire for all communities to answer. For some provinces the questions seemed very simple, but for others they were provocative and challenging.

The organizing team presented the responses of the provinces and their analysis.
