Welcome!

Mother House

All SSpS provinces and regions are represented in the First SSpS International JPIC Seminar by their respective JPIC coordinators – 44 Sisters in all.  Also participating are all the 7 members of the Congregational Leadership Team, 2 Sisters from the Generalate, and 4 continental JPIC coordinators of the Society of the Divine Word (SVD).  The  total number of people involved in the seminar is 66, including 2 facilitators and 7 members of the service team for communication, translation and secretariat.

The warm welcome by the members of the community in the Mother House in Steyl and the tour around the house gave the sisters the opportunity to know one another and the historical place where the SSpS had its humble beginnings.

Sunday at the Mother House in Steyl…

By Sunday, September 30, most of the participants have arrived.  After lunch, we went for a visit to the first printing press of the SVD, where there was an exhibit of the machines (dating 1909) that the Brothers used in their work of evangelization through print media.  The restoration process was undertaken with the purpose of making known the magnitude of Arnold Janssen’s work of spreading the Word.
